Behind the scenes at JSSS electrical.

What wakes Jesse Smith up at 4.00am every morning?
At JSSS Electrical, Managing Director and principal contractor Jesse’s alarm is set for 4.00am. What?! Yes, 4.00am. Why? Because before an electrical team can turn up to start your job at 7.00am there’s a lot of thinking, planning, and preparation that needs to happen to make it run smoothly for you and Jesse’s team. As well as scheduled projects, jobs are still coming in late the night before for an early start so being an early bird gives Jesse the chance to arrive at JSSS offices and take control of the day.
Let’s see how it all unfolds!
5.00am Jesse grabs a coffee and opens up the JSSS Electrical Waratah premises. In the quiet of the morning, he scopes the jobs booked for the day and starts planning.
6.00am The JSSS team arrives and Jesse gives a briefing for the day ahead including job locations, job specifications, who’s needed where and predicted time frames.
6.30am The team loads up their vans with the products they need for each job, keeping an inventory of essential electrical fitting, cabling and bakelite. For job’s they’ve yet to scope, the team purchases materials during the day to keep the job running smoothly.
7.00am Out to site. A ‘site’ for a member of the JSSS team can be a residential home, business or industrial building. Jobs can range in size and complexity from installing ceiling fans in a clients lounge room to a full electrical fit-out at a manufacturer’s warehouse, and clients can include homeowners, business owners, and new home or renovation builders. The days are diverse and that’s one of the things the JSSS team enjoy. It’s as satisfying for them to fit a power point as it is to re-wire a cafe or install smart technology into a home.
Throughout the day, back at the office, Operations Manager and fellow Director Shelly is contacting clients to schedule appointments and check on completed work. She’s finalising quotes and invoicing and handling all the business administration. Shelly also takes calls from the team out in the field to help quickly sources products and components they need to complete their projects.
3.30pm At the end of the long workday, the JSSS team come back together to unload their vans, restock essential components and provide paperwork back to Shelly for scheduling and invoicing. They compare notes and report on how each job went.
Anytime…Sometimes the day’s not quite over! The team is always ready and on call 24 hours / 7 days a week for emergency call-outs and before the day’s over they make sure they’re prepared if they take a call overnight.
Finally The team heads home, Jesse and Shelly finish up, and hopefully, Jesse’s head hits the pillow for enough sleep before the next day begins all over again. At 4.00am!
